Abstract:
Provided are a method for purifying fluorescein sodium, a method for producing substantially organic-solvent-free fluorescein sodium or high-purity fluorescein sodium, substantially organic-solvent-free fluorescein sodium or high-purity fluorescein sodium, and an ophthalmic diagnostic reagent that includes substantially organic-solvent-free fluorescein sodium or high-purity fluorescein sodium. A method for purifying fluorescein sodium, the method including adding 2-propanol or 2-butanol to an aqueous solution in which fluorescein sodium has been dissolved, and crystallizing the fluorescein sodium.
