Abstract:
In order to prevent lowering of responsiveness associated with a change of a main circuit impedance value caused by deterioration of a cutoff/driving capacitor or usage environment of a product, this high-speed DC vacuum circuit breaker is provided with: a vacuum valve device that is connected to a direct current line; a series circuit that is composed of a commutation capacitor and a commutation switch and that is connected in parallel to the vacuum valve device; a cutoff/driving circuit for opening the vacuum valve device; and a control unit that controls the cutoff/driving circuit upon reception of a tripping command. The cutoff/driving circuit has: a coil; a plurality of driving capacitors for supplying electric energy to the coil; and charging circuits respectively provided to the plurality of driving capacitors. On the basis of the tripping command, the control unit switches the plurality of driving capacitors to series connection during discharge to the coil and to parallel connection during a period other than discharge, and charges each of the driving capacitors to a target voltage by controlling a first semiconductor switch provided to the corresponding charging circuit.
