Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a honeycomb catalyst structure that is not damaged by the vibration of a diesel engine for a ship and is not only highly reliable but is also not prone to increases in pressure loss, even when cell count is increased. A honeycomb catalyst structure that is for use on exhaust gas from an engine for a ship and is formed by loading an SCR catalyst onto a metal honeycomb unit 10 that comprises a plurality of cells 13 that extend from one end surface to another end surface and are demarcated by cell walls. The SCR catalyst that is loaded onto the metal honeycomb unit 10 comprises TiO2 alone or includes TiO2 as a principal component in combination with one or more of V2O5, WO3, MoO3, SiO2, and Al2O3, the cell density of the cells 13 is 100–500 cpsi, and the slope of the straight line indicated by the relationship between the flow rate of the exhaust gas through the cells 13 and the pressure loss is 30–180.
