Abstract:
A mold (1) for extruding and molding a honeycomb structure (H) provided with a plurality of cells (C) partitioned by a cell wall (H1). The mold has a mold body (11), a material supply part (2), and a slit part (3). The material supply part has a material supply surface (12) providing one surface of the mold body, and material supply holes (21) extending in an extrusion direction (X) from the material supply surface. The slit part has an extrusion surface (13) facing the material supply surface with the material supply holes interposed therebetween, and lattice-shaped slits (31) opened with respect to the extrusion surface and communicating with the material supply holes inside the mold body. The slits include lattice points (P). The material supply holes are provided in positions corresponding to the lattice points and are provided to be coaxial with the lattice points. At an end of each material supply hole in the extrusion direction, there are provided a narrowing hole (22) the diameter of which decreases toward the lattice point, and guide holes (23) which extend outward from the narrowing hole and which guide material to the slit including the lattice point.
