Abstract:
An improved housing-shaped pipe joint where play between a housing and an annular groove is avoided independent of a groove forming method such as form rolling and cutting. This increases joint rigidity to enhance quality. Inner peripheral surfaces (9a, 10a) of flange claws (9, 10) are formed on tilt surfaces tilting relative to a standard line (Z) and extend over the entire length in the circumferential of inner peripheral end sections (9t, 10t). A recess (16) and a projection (17) are formed at ends in the circumferential direction of a pair of housings (1, 1), respectively, and the recess and projection are capable of relative positioning of the pair of housings (1, 1) when the recess and projection are fitted to each other. The dimension in the housing's lateral direction of the recess (16) is set greater than the dimension in the housing's lateral direction of the projection (17). The relative positions of the pair of housings (1, 1) in a fitted state where the recess (16) and the projection (17) are fitted to each other can be displaced from each other in the direction in which they are twisted with respect to each other. The pipe joint has a relative position adjustment means (B) for enabling maintenance means (I) to function, with the recess and projection displaced from each other.
