Abstract:
Disclosed is a housing type pipe joint such that an appropriate joint fastening state can be confirmed, and that the fastening work burden is reduced. This housing type pipe joint is provided with a pair of joint segments, an elastic seal ring, and fastening means for fastening the pair of joint segments to each other. The aforementioned joint segments have circular arc portions, flange portions extending from both ends of the circular arc portions, and recessed grooves which are formed on the inner peripheral surfaces of the circular arc portions and into which the elastic seal ring is fitted. If the above-mentioned fastening means are used to cause the flanges of one of the joint segments to approach the flanges of the other joint segment, then both joint segments undergo deflections in such a way that the radii of curvature of the circular arc portions become smaller, and the aforementioned deflections cause the peripheral edges of the circular arc portions to match the outer surfaces of pipes to be connected together, with the result that the connection of the pipes to each other is completed. The aforementioned housing type pipe joint is characterized in that the same is configured in such a way that the aforementioned peripheral edges of the circular arc portions have marks, and that when those portions of the peripheral edges of the circular arc portions which correspond to the aforementioned marks come into contact with the outer surfaces of the pipes, the connection of the pipes to each other is completed.
