Abstract:
An AC/DC hybrid power system and a DC-side fault protection method. The system comprises an AC power supply (01), an AC bus (02), an AC feed line (03), an AC switch (04), an AC/DC conversion device (05), an arc extinguishing device (06), a fault current damping device (07), a voltage measurement device (51) for a DC positive bus (101), a voltage measurement device (52) for a DC negative bus (102), and a ground current measurement device (08). Whether a DC-side ground fault has occurred in the AC/DC hybrid power system is determined by means of detecting magnitudes of a DC voltage and a ground current of the system. When there is no DC ground fault, a damping resistor is bypassed by using a bi-directional switch. The arc extinguishing device compensates for ground faults of the AC system, such that a protection mechanism is unaffected by the fault current damping device when a fault occurs in the AC system, enhancing the operation reliability of the system.
