Disclosed is a hydraulic continuously variable transmission, comprising a piston 1, a gear control plate 2, a driving wheel 3 and a hydraulic cavity 4, wherein an outlet 6 and an inlet 7 are provided on the hydraulic cavity, the outlet and the inlet are both provided with an one-way valve 8, and the inlet is connected to the driving wheel via a powered oil circulation backflow channel 11. After pressurized by the piston, the powered oil penetrates a powered oil delivery hole 10 to push the driving wheel to rotate, and after finishing the process of pushing the driving wheel, the powered oil is withdrawn again and squeezed again to work by the piston via the powered oil circulation backflow channel and the inlet. During the circulation process, the powered oil participates in its entirety, the power delivery is direct and the efficiency is close to 100%, and the hydraulic continuously variable transmission can provide a relatively large torque, which can realize direct output of the power, direct delivery without losses, thereby reducing power waste. At the same time, the powered oil is returned via the circulation backflow channel, thereby further realizing the purpose of energy saving and environmental protection.
