Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a novel hydrocarbon production method that uses microalgae. Provided is a novel method for producing hydrocarbons using microalgae belonging to the genus Imantonia. The hydrocarbon production method according to the present invention is able to utilize sea water that is available in abundance. This hydrocarbon production method can be implemented at relatively low temperatures (e.g., 10-20°C). With this hydrocarbon production method, it is possible to produce C10-38 linear saturated hydrocarbons.
