Title:
HYDROGEN-OCCLUDING ALLOY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2004/061142
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A hydrogen-occluding alloy, when used for a battery, exhibits excellent output characteristics and charge acceptance ability, and has little cracks. The alloy is used for large-capacity batteries, particularly those for electric automobiles, hybrid electric automobiles, and other high output applications. A hydrogen-occluding alloy is characterized in that the alloy changes its phase with the change in a hydrogen occlusion amount (H/M), and is in a single-phase state or a state approximate to the single-phase state when the hydrogen occlusion amount (H/M) is in a range of 0.3 - 0.7 or of 0.4 - 0.6.
