Description:
IGNITION DEVICE WITH INSULATION BODY FOR A GAS COOKER

TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates to an ignition device for gas cooking appliances, in particular with the ignition device with electrical insulation body located on high-voltage converter coil and mounting plate.

STATE OF THE ART

In gas cooking appliances, an ignition device is fitted on a mounting plate of the cooking device body adjacent to the gas burner. The ignition element is connected to the ignition device in a transformer structure that supplies high voltage to ensure electrical conduction.

The ignition device includes a transformer with a primary and secondary winding provided around a ferrite core. Transformer increases the voltage value of the mains electricity delivered as input. In this way, the ignition element connected with the cable from the ignition device outlet is sparked by a high voltage arc towards the gas burner thereby igniting the gas-air mixture and obtaining the flame. The ignition device with electrical connection is mounted on the mounting plate wrapped around an insulation body. The insulation body is in the form of a plastic casing in which the transformer terminal pins protrude, and it is embedded in a transformer casing with insulating material such as epoxy in such a way that it cannot be removed non-destructively.

EP2960583 discloses a gas cooking equipment and an oven. Gas cooking equipment comprises at least one gas burner and an ignition device for igniting the gas burner. To prevent the ignition device from being damaged by the heat radiation emitted from the gas burner, a protection device may be provided between the gas burner and the ignition device. Two mushroom-shaped fastening sections are provided underneath the protective device. By means of the fastening sections, the protection device may be fixed to a bottom tub or a burner area. For this purpose, suitable slot-shaped holes are provided in the bottom tub, into which fastening sections can be pushed. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION

The object of the invention is to provide fast and safe mounting of the ignition device to the mounting plate in gas cooking appliances.

In order to achieve the aforementioned objectives, the invention comprises an ignition device for the gas cooker comprising an insulation body (10) selected from electrically insulating material confining an inner chamber between a mounting wall and an opposite outer wall and a transformer is secured to the inner chamber. The ignition device further comprises a mounting element engaging in a narrowed holding aperture at the periphery of a mounting opening of the adjacent mounting plate when moving radially outwardly through the mounting opening in a locking position to suspend the insulation body and protrudes outwardly from the mounting wall. In a possible embodiment, the engagement of the mounting element to the holding aperture is in the form of a snap-fit. The holding aperture can be a separate and narrower opening to which the mounting opening reaches, or it can be a narrowed extension of the mounting opening. The insulation body of the ignition device can be easily fixed to the mounting plate by being attached to the mounting wall, thanks to the engagement of the connecting element to the holding aperture simply by moving radially outward, for example, up or down after it is disposed in the center of the mounting opening.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the mounting element is having a post rising from the mounting wall and the mounting element and a flexible tab is inserted into the holding aperture through the mounting opening provided at the free end of the post. The flexible post allows the insulation body carrying the transformer to be fixed securely by moving in accordance with the width of the holding aperture in the connection element and maintaining its position in the locking position.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the tab has a crescent-shaped form penetrate by stretching through a narrowed throat part between the holding aperture and the mounting opening. Thus, the tab bends in the radial direction. The tab that contacts the narrowed throat section passing through the mounting opening stretches radially inward and narrows its outer diameter by adapting it to the throat width, and then returns to its original state when it fits into the holding aperture.

A preferred embodiment of the invention, the tab is having an integrated tapering neck part and fits into the periphery of throat section in the locking position. The neck part forms guiding element that proceeds in the mounting opening and the holding part, and the wider outer part of the tab is formed wider than the holding aperture to prevent the movement in the axial direction, for example in case of pulling.

A preferred embodiment of the invention, a spring plate is expanding transversely from the post such aligned at an angle to apply a spring force to the mounting plate. Due to the exerted spring force against the mounting plate, the spring plate tries to pull the mounting element from the mounting plate in the axial direction and allows the fixed insulation body to seat into the mounting plate in the axial direction without forming a gap.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the spring plate is arranged convexly with respect to the mounting wall. In this case, when the mounting wall is attached to the mounting plate, the spring plate stretches and forms a pre-tension between them in the pushing direction.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the height of a free holding end of the spring plate is adjusted to be aligned with the neck part. In this case, when the mounting element is seated in the mounting plate, the holder ends can internally rest against the mounting plate by providing tension.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the connection element comprises a longitudinal W-like cross-sectional form. This structure facilitates the connection element to move inwardly while passing through the mounting opening to holding aperture and being engaged by stretching outward when seated, that is, it makes the radial bending easier.

In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the insulation body and the connection element are made of one-piece plastic injection molding. This increases the structural strength in terms of the mounting element and enables it to easily carry the insulation body on the mounting plate.

A preferred embodiment of the invention comprises a second mounting element, which is provided at a vicinity of the connection element on the mounting wall and together support the insulation body against rotation. The mounting element and the second mounting element seat in the corresponding holding apertures of mounting wall by passing through the corresponding mounting openings in case of locking and thereby allowing them to be supported by mounting plate and preventing rotation. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the second mounting element has the same form with the connection element. This facilitates the manufacturing process.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the mounting element is in a mushroom-shaped form that arranged to be disposed in the holding aperture from outside. The mushroom shaped form is placed in the outer part of the holding aperture from its inner face and prevents the axial outward movement of the insulation body.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION

In this detailed description, the subject matter of the invention has been illustrated by way of non-exhaustive examples that only serve to better explain the subject matter invention.

Figure 1 is a bottom perspective view of an ignition device prepared for use in a mounting plate (50) located in a hob with four gas burners (not shown). The ignition device has a plastic insulation body (10) that delimits an inner chamber (14) by surrounding an elongated transformer (20) in the form of a container. Transformer (20) is described in the description PCT/TR2019/050825 incorporated by reference. The transformer (20) is equipped with a hollow cylindrical winding bearing (22) in which coils (not shown) associated with electrical input 21 are housed. A plug connection corresponding to each spark module (not shown) provided near the gas burner is connected from the plug sections (16, 18) to the pins (23), which are covered by the insulation body and transferred to high voltage in a way that provides electrical transmission. The insulation body (10) comprises a planar mounting wall (12) and an outer wall 15 parallel to it, and a base 17 and planar side walls 11 closing them in the form of a container at their opposite ends insulation body (10) has a hollow prismatic structure produced by plastic injection. The transformer 20 is positioned on the base 17 of the inner chamber 14 located between the mounting wall (12) and the outer wall 15. The pins 23 elongate in the hollow cylindrical socket parts (16, 18) extending from the insulation body (10). An epoxy insulation material (not shown) encases the inner chamber 14 in a way that it embeds the transformer 20 from the top.

On the mounting wall (12) of the insulation body (10), there is a mounting element (30) positioned on the same axis and second mounting element 40 positioned at a distant from the former. The mounting elements (30, 40) are in a mushroom-shaped form and are integrated into the mounting wall (12). The mounting element (30) comprises a post (37) in a flat thin I profile structure extending vertically from the mounting wall (12) and a self-formed circular tab (32) at the free end of the post (37). The tab (32) has a crescent-shaped form of equal thickness, with one free end opening to a channel (33). A convex leaf spring plate (34) extends transversely to the insulation body (10) at an equal distance from the bottom of the post (37) in two directions relative to the mounting wall (12).

In Figure 2, the insulation body (10) is shown from below. On the cylindrical base (17), socket parts (16, 18) in the form of a square tubular section are located outwards at opposite corners. Metallic pin (23) in the socket parts (16, 18) extends in connection with the coils. The side walls (11) extend perpendicular to the mounting wall (12) parallel to each other and the outer wall (15). Mounting elements (30, 40) are located on the mounting wall (12) from their opposite ends that are at a distance from the inlet of the inner chamber (14), and thus, they remain above the socket parts (16, 18).

In Figure 3, the mounting element (30) is shown in detail. The crescent-shaped tab (32) passes through the center in the middle and extends as a continuation of an intermediate wall (31) post (37) in the form of two separate channels (33). The channel (33) provides its two extensions divided by the tab (32) to stretch towards the intermediate wall (31). Tab (32) includes a neck portion (38) having an outer diameter that gradually narrows. The inner diameter of the neck (38) and the tab (32) are equal. The open ends of the neck part (38) define a bearing end (39). The spring plate (34) is in the form of a short circle arc, and its opposite ends are inflated transversely to obtain a curved retainer end (35). Figure 4 shows the front view of a mounting plate (50) located on the gas cooker and to which the insulation body (10) is fixed. The mounting plate (50) comprises a circular cut-out mounting opening (54) in a front wall 52 facing the mounting wall (12) and an adjacent semi holding aperture (56) whose diameter is narrower than this. The holding aperture (56) is opened to the mounting opening (54) with a narrowed neck (58) in such a way that it forms a mushroom-shaped structure. The throat 58 has a L-shaped form and partially cuts the upper part of the circular mounting opening (54) and connects it to the mounting opening (54) with a narrow radius from the diameter portion. Thus, the throat section (58) forms a structure extending into the holding aperture (56).

The mounting element (30) allows passing the circular tab (32) through the mounting opening (54) and the insulation body (10) is moved radially upward in the direction of the arrow. The wide part of the tab (32) stays behind the mounting opening (54) and the neck part (38) fits into the mounting opening (54). The narrowed throat (58) presses the neck part (38) radially inward and thus the tab (32), made of flexible material, is able to pass through the throat 58 by stretching the neck part (38) to the channel (33) with a reducing diameter. Subsequently, the neck part (38) entering into the holding aperture (56) extends radially outward and is seated into the holding aperture (56). The bearing end (39) rests on the throat (58) so that the mounting element (30) that engages with the holding aperture (56) cannot return to the mounting opening in the locking position. The wide part of the tab (32) fitting on the back wall opposite the front wall (32) prevents the mounting element (30) from pulling out by avoiding the axial movement.

On the other hand, in the locking position, the opposite retainer ends (35) lean against the front wall (52) and provide the spring plate (34) to be strained by exerting a pressure force with the adjacent mounting plate (50). Thus, a space that may occur due to tolerance or wear is compensated by the spring plate (34).
