Abstract:
An illumination device according to an embodiment comprises first and second light guide plates, a plurality of first and second light sources, and first and second layers. The first light guide plate has a first main surface, a second main surface, a first side surface, and a second side surface positioned at the side opposite to the first side surface in a first direction. The second light guide plate has a third main surface, a fourth main surface, a third side surface close to the first side surface, and a fourth side surface close to the second side surface. The plurality of first light sources are aligned facing the second side surface in a second direction. The plurality of second light sources are aligned facing the third side surface in the second direction. The first layer includes a plurality of first prisms provided on the second main surface, and the second surface includes a plurality of second prisms provided on the fourth main surface. Furthermore, the second side surface and the fourth side surface are skewed in the first direction.
