Abstract:
This image capturing device is provided with: a control unit that, by causing a lens to move in a first direction along the optical axis, causes capturing of multiple first images through the lens when the lens is positioned at multiple first positions, respectively, and that, by causing the lens to move in a second direction opposite to the first direction, causes capturing of one or more second images through the lens when the lens is positioned at one or more second positions in the optical axis direction, respectively; and a specification unit that specifies a focus position by using one or more first evaluation values among multiple first evaluation values indicating focus states which are calculated on the basis of the multiple first images together with one or more second evaluation values indicating focus states which are calculated on the basis of the one or more second images.
