Abstract:
This image display device (100) allows a viewer to view an image within the range of an eye box (E). The image display device comprises: a light source unit (110); a screen (140); a scanning unit (130); and an optical system (155). The screen (140) includes a single micro lens array (1) wherein a plurality of micro lenses (3) is arranged. The scanning unit (130) includes a mirror (130a) for reflecting the light emitted from the light source unit (110) and sweeps the light over the screen (140) to form an image by having the mirror (130a) pivot about a pivot point (130c). The optical system (155) guides the image on the screen (140) into the eye box (E). The angle (θout) formed by the zero order and the first order diffracted light in the light flux diffracted by the screen (140) and passing through the center of the eye box (E) is smaller than a minimum viewing angle (Vmin).
