Abstract:
A preparation operation on an image formation unit that forms an image on a recording medium is implemented more quickly than when an advance command is described in a printer job language. A multifunction printer (1) comprises: an image formation unit (4) that forms an image on a sheet (S1); a USB interface (12) that connects to a PC (101) via USB and receives an advance command described so as to indicate a preparation operation on the image formation unit (4) using a control transfer protocol, which is a transfer method for a USB connection; and a CPU (91) that executes the preparation operation on the image formation unit (4) in response to reception of the advance command by the USB interface (12).
