Abstract:
An image forming apparatus (51) is provided with a platen roller (26), an ink ribbon (11), a body (21) to which an image is to be transferred, a thermal head (16), and a control unit (CT). When n continuous transfer regions that are set to the body (21) are defined as the first to nth transfer regions in a direction opposite to the order of arrangements of first to nth ink layers (n is an integer equal to two or greater), the control unit (CT) uses first to nth ink sets to perform a transfer operation from k=1 to k=n on the n transfer regions in order to transfer the ink of the first to kth (1 ≤ k ≤ n) ink layers to the kth to first transfer regions. This allows the formation of a color image on the first transfer region to which n color inks have been transferred.
