Abstract:
When the pre-rotation sequence was started at the time that an advance print start notification was sent from a controller to an engine, it was not possible to achieve an appropriate FPOT if the time (Tpre) necessary for the pre-rotation sequence was longer than the projected time (Tprint). A drum rotation authorization command is newly provided in order to determine whether or not the pre-rotation sequence can be started at the time that the print reserve command, which is sent prior to the advance print start notification, is sent to the engine. If the pre-rotation sequence is to be started immediately, FPOT can be shortened because the pre-rotation sequence can be started sooner than in the past. If the pre-rotation sequence is not to be started immediately, it is possible to adjust the pre-rotation sequence time to the image expansion time and limit degradation of expendable objects such as the photosensitive drum.
