Abstract:
Provided are an image forming device and an image forming head that are capable of accurately and easily measuring a change in electrostatic capacitance of a piezoelectric element. This image forming device comprises: an image forming head that has a piezoelectric element provided to a wall surface of a pressure chamber in which an image forming material is stored; a charge holding unit that has a predetermined electrostatic capacitance and can hold electrical charges; and an electrostatic capacitance measuring unit that provides the electrical charges held by the charge holding unit to the piezoelectric element, and measures the change in electrostatic capacitance of the piezoelectric element on the basis of the state in which the electrical charges are held by the piezoelectric element after said providing.
