The purpose of the present invention is to efficiently generate a pansharpened image which has an appropriate tonal range and whereupon tone mapping processing has been carried out. Provided is an image processing device, comprising a tonal range-adjusted image generating unit which generates a first tonal range-converted image by converting the tonal range of a first image having one or more instances of color information. The image processing device further comprises a composite image generating means which generates a composite image which is an image which has one or more instances of color information and a resolution which is at least higher than the first image, by adjusting the first image using characteristic information generated on the basis of the first image and a second image which has a higher resolution than the first image and relating to the tonal range of the second image, and the tonal range of the first tonal range-converted image.
