Abstract:
Provided are an image reading device, a control method, and a control program with which it is possible to notify a user of appropriate instructions for relocating a long document when an abnormality has occurred during conveying of the document. The image reading device has: an imaging unit that images the conveyed document; an abnormality determination unit that determines whether an abnormality has occurred during conveying of the document; a control unit that stops conveying of the document when an abnormality is determined to have occurred; a document determination unit that determines whether the document is a long document; and a notification unit that, when the conveying of the document has been stopped, issues a notification to relocate the document when the document is determined not to be a long document, and issues a notification to relocate the document so that a first prescribed position in the middle of the document conforms to a second prescribed position of the image reading device when the document is determined to be a long document.
