Abstract:
An image reading device (2) is provided with a control section (101) which, when an instruction for an individual image cutout section (102) to isolate an individual image is being made on an operating section (15), if a manuscript cover open state is detected by an open/close detection section (33) and it is determined that type information stored in advance in a HDD (19) comprises information indicating a contact image sensor, causes a display section (16) to issue an alert indicating that the manuscript cover (32) is in open state, and terminates execution of reading of a manuscript image by an image reading section (11).
