This image reading device is provided with: light guiding bodies (5, 6) that emit light to a reading object; a lens body (8) that converges reflected light; a light receiving body (13) that receives the reflected light; a sensor substrate (24) on which the light receiving body (13) is mounted; a lens holder (11); and a housing (9) that houses or holds these components. The lens holder (11) has a holder bottom portion (11g), light guiding body positioning portions (11a, 11b), and lens body holding portions (11e, 11f). In the lens holder (11), the lens body (8) is attached between the lens body holding portions (11e, 11f), the sensor substrate (24) is attached to the holder bottom portion (11g) while the light receiving body (13) is matched with the optical axis of the lens body (8), the light guiding bodies (5, 6) are attached to the light guiding body positioning portions (11a, 11b), and at least part of the shape of a surface of the light guiding body positioning portion (11a, 11b) facing the attached light guiding body (5, 6) is equal to the shape of a surface of the light guiding body.
