Abstract:
A patterning device 114 has a first number of pixels and modulates the intensity distribution of a light beam in accordance with two-gray-level first image data IMG1. A computation processing device 130 has detection intensity b based on the output of an optical detector 120 and a second number of pixels fewer than the first number of pixels, performs the correlation calculation of random m-gray-level (m ≧ 2) second image data IMG2, and reconstructs a restored image G (x, y) of an object. When the first image data IMG1 and the second image data IMG2 are scaled to the same size and stacked one on top of another, discretionary pixels of the second image data IMG2 and a pixel group including a plurality of pixels of the first image data IMG1 that overlap said pixels are associated. When it is assumed that k represents the normalized gray-level value of a discretionary pixel, L represents the number of pixels included in the pixel group, and I represents the number of pixels included in the pixel group and the value of which is 1, the equation I = Ｌ×ｋ holds true.
