Abstract:
The present technology relates to an imaging device, an imaging method, and a program that can more easily and more quickly perform view angle matching. According to the present invention, an imaging device captures and displays a live-view image, a user performs view angle matching while looking at the live-view image, and a captured image is captured on the imaging device. Then, an internal information detection unit detects, as internal detected information, information related to the captured image, and an external information detection unit detects, as external detected information, the circumstances, etc. of the imaging device. An imaging settings alteration unit determines, on the basis of the internal detected information and/or the external detected information, whether astrophotography is being performed and, for astrophotography, sets the upper limit for the shutter speed for capturing the live-view image to a value that is larger than the shutter speed for normal image capturing. The present technology can be applied to a digital still camera.
