Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an imaging device, an imaging method and a program with which a user can quickly and easily select a video frame of a desired composition when extracting a still image from a video. This imaging device according to a first embodiment is provided with: a direction detection unit that detects the direction of the imaging device with respect to the direction of gravity; an imaging unit that captures a video; and a control unit. The control unit generates a video file of the video captured by the imaging unit, and includes a first video mode which allows extraction of a still image from the video file. In the first video mode, the control unit splits the video to generate a first video and a second video if the direction detection unit determined that the direction of the imaging device changed with respect to the direction of gravity. The control unit saves a first video file of the first video and a second video file of the second video in the same folder of a storage unit.
