Abstract:
Provided is an imaging device having a novel configuration. The imaging device has an imaging region in which a plurality of pixels are provided. The plurality of pixels of the imaging region include first pixels and second pixels. The imaging device has a function of selecting a first region or a second region. The first region includes the same number of pixels as the second region. The first region includes at least the first and second pixels, and the second region includes at least the second pixels. Each pixel of the first region and the second region has a function of outputting an acquired imaging signal. The imaging device simultaneously reads and calculates the imaging signals output by the pixels of the first region, thereby generating first image data. The imaging device simultaneously reads and calculates the imaging signals output by the pixels of the second region, thereby generating second image data. A first image picture can be generated using the first image data and the second image data.
