Abstract:
This imaging element comprises multiple pixels arranged in a first direction, wherein first pixels and second pixels included in the aforementioned multiple pixels each has a photoelectric conversion element which photoelectrically converts incident light to generate a charge, a reflection unit which reflects light transmitted through the photoelectric conversion unit back to the photoelectric conversion unit, and an output unit which outputs the charge generated by photoelectric conversion by the photoelectric conversion unit; the reflection unit of the first pixels is provided in a plane crossing the direction of incidence of the light, in a region disposed to the first direction side from the center of the photoelectric conversion element of the first pixel, and the reflection unit of the second pixels is provided in a plane crossing the direction of incidence of the light, in a region disposed to the side opposite of the first direction from the center of the photoelectric conversion element of the first pixel; at least part of the output unit of the first pixels is provided in the optical path on which light transmitted through the photoelectric conversion unit of the first pixel is incident to the reflection unit of the first pixel, and at least part of the output unit of the second pixels is provided in the optical path on which light transmitted through the photoelectric conversion unit of the second pixel is incident to the reflection unit of the second pixel.
