Abstract:
The imaging element of the present disclosure is provided with: an analog-digital converter for converting a plurality of analog pixel signals outputted from a pixel, under a plurality of different imaging conditions, into digital pixel signals; a threshold-setting unit for setting randomly varied thresholds on the input side of the analog-digital converter; a comparison unit for using a threshold set by the threshold-setting unit as a comparison threshold and making a comparison with one of the plurality of analog pixel signals; and a selection unit for selecting one digital pixel signal from among a plurality of digital pixel signals outputted from the analog-digital converter, on the basis of the result of the comparison by the comparison unit, and outputting the selected digital pixel.
