According to the present invention, high performance including good focusing-related performance is achieved. The imaging lens is provided with, in order from the object side to the image side, a first lens group which is constantly fixed and which has a positive refractive power, and a first focus lens group which moves in the optical axis direction during focusing from an infinity object to a short-distance object, and is provided with, in order from the image side to the object side, a final lens group which is constantly fixed and which has a negative refractive power, and a second focus lens group which moves in the optical axis direction during focusing from an infinity object to a short-distance object, wherein: the first focus lens group and/or the second focus lens group has a negative refractive power; an aperture diaphragm is disposed between the first focus lens group and the second focus lens group; and conditional expression (1) is satisfied.
