Description:
An improved fabric stand for use in a VAMATEX loom

Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a fabric stand which uniformly supports from below the width of cloth which is woven in a loom for VAMATEX wool spinning(or cotton spinning, silk spinning) yarn.

More particularly, the present invention relates to fixing a basic fabric stand having minimum to maximum width to a loom and installing a traveling fabric stand so as to adjust the width of fabric stand in order to semipermanently use the fabric stand which has been used as an article of consumption.

Background of the Invention

In order to weave a wool-spun, cotton-spun or silk-spun yarn, VAMATEX looms, SMIT looms, SOMET looms or HR looms are used in the textile plant. These looms require an apparatus which uniformly supports the width of cloth which is woven. The VAMATEX loom uses a fabric stand, the SMIT loom uses a cloth supports, the SOMET loom uses an apparatus similar to said fabric stand and the HR loom is structured differently from said other looms. Accordingly, those apparatuses which function as fabric stands are different in structure and not interchangeable. In order to use the VAMATEX loom more efficiently, it is necessary to correct an imperfection of fabric stand.

The fabric stand of said VAMATEX loom supports from below the width of cloth which is woven.

Heretofore, said fabric stand was replaced by cutting its width according to the woven width of cloth and by separating and uniting about 12 bolts every time it was used. Moreover, said fabric stand which is installed according to the width respectively used lowers the quality of cloth due to wear when its width is changed more than 50 times per loom and so it must be replaced with a new one again and again. Therefore, the fabric stand heretofore in use lowers efficiency of work by requiring a lot of time for replacement.

Giving a detailed explanation of how to use and replace the fabric stand used hitherto, it is as follows : After the circular fabric stand as shown in figure 2(A) is cut according to width, and a yarn guide and a temple ling stand are attached thereto and then the fabric stand attached to the loom is removed, horizontal and vertical positions are adjusted by installing said new fabric stand with 12 bolts.

Concretely speaking, it takes about 60 minutes to cut a fabric stand, 30 minutes to attach a yarn guide, 30 minutes to attach a temple ling stand, 20 minutes to remove a fabric stand attached to the loom, 40 minutes to attach a new fabric stand and 180 minutes to replace the new fabric stand. Thus, a lot of working hours are required to cut the fabric stand according to width and to replace it when the conventional fabric stand is used.

Regarding clothing fabrics, it is necessary to

weave it multifariously according to demand with a width of 64.6 to 86.5 inches and with a difference of about 2 inches and, at this time, fabric stands must be retained according to each width. As to the fabric stand according to each width, at least 12 fabric stands must be kept and surplus fabric stands must also be kept. Consequently, a lot of the material cost is entailed and, as those fabric stands must be imported, work is interrupted in the case where stock in hand is insufficient.

In the event where stock of said fabric stand is insufficient, the pieces of fabric stand are used by being joined together. Figures 2(C) and 2(D) show such a method of use. In the case where the width of narrow fabric stand in use must be utilized as wide width, the pieces of fabric stand are used by being attached together and, in the case where the width of wide fabric stand must be utilized as narrow width, it can be used by cutting the fabric stand and adjusting the space of guide section with the pieces of fabric stand attached to the guide section. Even in this case, however, it takes about 180 minutes to install the pieces of a fabric stand to the cut portion and there is no difference from the case where a new fabric stand is replaced. Even when the pieces of fabric stand are precisely attached and ground, their chink and height are not so even that bad lines of longitude and edges are produced and quality as well as productivity are thereby lowered. Particularly when combed cloth is manufactured, quality is

remarkably lowered by lines of longitude on the back.

Furthermore, it requires a considerable degree of skill to attach the pieces of fabric stand together and a process of work is so troublesome that work efficiency particularly different from replacing said fabric stand cannot be produced.

Objectives of the invention

In order to solve such problems as described hereinabove the present invention aims at making a fabric stand semipermanently usable without replacing it.

The present invention aims at shortening working hours and improving work efficiency " by making the width of fabric stand adjustable when necessary. The present invention aims, at using a fabric stand continuously by installing one basic fabric stand and by making its width adjustable with a traveling fabric stand, and at reducing the material cost by holding no fabric stand in stock for each width.

The present invention aims at reducing labor cost by making replacement or installation of fabric stand unnecessary. The present invention aims at improving productivity and quality by producing no line of longitude nor edge even when a traveling fabric stand is used continuously.

Brief description of the drawings

Figure 1 is a separated perspective view of the fabric stand according to the present invention.

Figure 2 is a plane view showing the use condition of the conventional fabric stand.

Figure 3 is a plane view showing the use condition of the present invention.

Detailed Description of the preferred embodiment Now, the present invention will be described by referring to the drawing attached hereto.

As illustrated in Figure 1, the present invention is formed by installing a traveling fabric stand 2 in a basic fabric stand 1. Said basic fabric stand 1 cuts a circular fabric stand as illustrated in Figure

1 to the maximum width from the minmum width and forms a guide groove 3. Said traveling fabric stand

2 installs a guide projection 4 which will be inserted into the guide groove 3 by moving from side to side and forms a yarn guide hole 7 on its one side. Said traveling fabric stand 2 is fixedly installed on both sides of the minimum width of said basic fabric stand 1 by a support plate 5 and a bolt 6. Said traveling fabric stand 2 moves by the separation and combination of said bolt 6 and its width is thereby adjusted.

Said traveling fabric stand 2 can be manufactured with an iron sheet of 1 mm to 2 mm. However, in the case where a thin iron sheet of 1 mm is used, it is apt to be bent by the tension of fabrics. It is desirable

to use an iron sheet of 2 mm. So then, it is apparent to those skilled in this field that not only an iron sheet but also a hard synthetic resin product can be used to make said traveling fabric stand. Figure 3 is a plane view of the present invention. Necessary width can be kept by adjusting the traveling fabric stand 2 from side to side. As illustrated in Fig 3(B), the basic fabric stand 1 is cut to the minimum width(A) and both ends are cut to the maximum width(B) and then said traveling fabric stand 2 is installed by a support plate 5 and a bolt 6. When it is necessary to adjust width, it is adjusted by unfastening only the bolt 6 with a wrench and by moving the traveling fabric stand 2 according to width.

However, the fabric stand of the VAMATEX loom heretofore in use is cut and connected again as illustrated in Figure 2 and so it must be replaced in the long run, whereas the present invention illustrated in Figure 1 and Figure 3 is usable semipermanently as it can adjust its width freely according to the width of cloth which is woven. Moreover, the present invention can reduce working hours as it adjusts width by moving the traveling fabric stand in three minutes, though the conventional fabric stand takes three hours to change its width by being cut and replaced according to width or by joining the pieces of fabric stand. The basic fabric stand being usable semipermanently, it is needless to retain it more than

necessary, so that the material cost caused by holding it in stock is curtailed. Thanks to shortened work hours, labor cost is saved. Work being simple, work efficiency is improved. The traveling fabric stand being made of an iron sheet, the degree of wear is not so great even when used continuously. Accordingly, no line of longitude nor edge is produced when cloth is woven and productivity is thereby improved. It will become apparent to those who have a common knolwedge in the technical field including the present invention that various modifications and changes can be made in the present invention within the limits of the aforesaid description and claims attached hereto.
