A process for producing a double-faced woolen fabric, the process comprising the steps of spinning, weaving and post-finishing, wherein the post-finishing comprises, in sequence, the steps of washing a woolen fabric, fulling the woolen fabric, a first instance of drying and shaping the woolen fabric, dissolving connecting threads with hot water, and a second instance of drying and shaping same. The connecting threads for double-layer weaves of the double-faced woolen fabric are polyvinyl acetal fiber yarns, and the fiber compositions of the double-layer weaves both comprise wool fibers; the process temperatures for the steps of washing and fulling the woolen fabric are lower than an initial dissolution temperature for the polyvinyl acetal fiber yarns; and an acting force causing wool felt shrinkage is applied to the double-faced woolen fabric while the connecting threads are dissolved. In the production process, the double-faced woolen fabric is finished into a connecting-thread-free double-layer structure, and during a sewing process of the double-faced woolen fabric, an edge of a cut piece can be directly picked up by using a sewing needle, thereby completely avoiding defects and loss generated during an edge cutting operation, and improving the sewing efficiency and fabric utilization rate.
