Abstract:
The present invention provides an incoming wave number estimation apparatus that includes a sub-array space averaging unit (102), an eigenvalue expansion unit (103), and a wave number estimation unit (104). The sub-array space averaging unit (102) that divides a received signal of an array antenna (101) into a plurality of sub-arrays having different shapes, calculates a correlation matrix for each sub-array having different shapes, and performs a spatial average of the correlation matrices. The eigenvalue expansion unit (103) performs eigenvalue expansion of the correlation matrix for each of the sub-arrays having different shapes after spatial averaging. The wave number estimation unit (104) estimates the number of incoming waves by integrating the eigenvalues for each of the sub-arrays having different shapes obtained by the eigenvalue expansion unit (103).
