The purpose of the present invention is to obtain an indoor unit of an air conditioner in which short circuiting can be suppressed and deflection of louvers can be prevented. The indoor unit of an air conditioner is provided with: a suction port; a plurality of blowout ports provided so as to surround the circumference of the suction port; and a plurality of louvers provided in the respective blowout ports and configured to have an adjustable blowout direction. The louvers are rotated in directions for closing the blowout ports when the indoor unit is stopped. Further, the angle of each of the louvers obtained by rotation in the direction for closing the corresponding blowout port when the indoor unit is stopped, is defined as a full-close angle. A remote control is provided for setting operation of the louvers during the operating time of the indoor unit. The minimum angle and the maximum angle of the louver angle which can be set by the remote control are defined as a first angle and a second angle, respectively. In this case, during a heating operation, the louver angle of at least one of the plurality of blowout ports is set to a third angle greater than the full-close angle which is the louver angle obtained when the indoor unit is stopped, but smaller than the first angle, and the louvers in the other blowout ports are set to auto swing or downward blowing.
