Abstract:
Provided are an infection risk estimation method and infection risk estimation device, the infection risk estimation method comprising: a gas collection step for collecting discharged gas that includes droplets discharged from an oral or nasal cavity; an evaporation step for causing the moisture of the droplets included in the discharged gas collected in the gas collection step to evaporate; a fine particle measurement step for measuring the number of particles under detection, which are particles having particle sizes within a specific range, that are in the discharged gas from which the droplet moisture has been made to evaporate in the evaporation step; a comparison step for comparing the number of particles under detection measured in the fine particle measurement step with a threshold; and an infection risk estimation step for estimating that there is a risk of infection from pathogenic microorganisms if the number of particles under detection is determined to be greater than or equal to the threshold in the comparison step. The infection risk estimation method and infection risk estimation device make it possible to estimate that a person is a sick person who has the potential to discharge viruses or bacteria that are transmitted through droplet transmission or airborne transmission by measuring particles under detection included in discharged gas including droplets discharged from an oral or nasal cavity.
