Abstract:
A region extraction unit 35 performs region recognition on map information and extracts region information indicating regions having different possibilities of presence of a moving object. In the region information, a moving object presence score indicating the ease of presence of a moving object in each recognized region is set. A characteristic shape extraction unit 36 extracts characteristic shapes of objects present in sensing data acquired by an external sensor 312. A moving object candidate extraction unit 37 sets, for the objects, moving object scores indicating moving object-likenesses on the basis of the extraction results of the characteristic shapes, and extracts a moving object candidate on the basis of the moving object scores. A determination unit 38 determines whether the moving object candidate is a moving object on the basis of at least either of the moving object score indicated by the extraction result of the moving object candidate extraction unit 37 and the moving object presence score of a region where the moving object candidate is located in the region information extracted by the region extraction unit 35. A map information processing unit 39 deletes the moving object from map information. Thus, the map information from which the moving object is removed can be rapidly generated.
