Abstract:

There is provided an information signal processing method for effectively processing a characteristic data file corresponding to the video/audio file or a play list file when performing a predetermined file processing such as video/audio file edition and copy and effectively realizing digest reproduction. In a predetermined operation mode using the first information data recorded in the recording medium, a first recording processing is performed so as to obtain second information data in accordance with the predetermined processing setting in the recording medium or in another recording medium. When it is detected that third information data correlated with the first information data is recorded in a predetermined operation mode, the second recording processing is performed with the first recording processing so as to obtain the fourth information data by using the third information data.
