Abstract:
The present invention provides a new inorganic fiber-containing mat that achieves sufficient noise reduction for low-frequency sound particularly at 1 kHz or less and has excellent heat resistance and heat insulation even if the mat is thin. The inorganic fiber-containing mat comprises, as a substrate, an inorganic-fiber compact that is made of an inorganic-fiber needle work having an air-flow resistance of 0.7-1.5 kPa∙s/m and a thickness of 5-30 mm. On the surface of the inorganic-fiber compact, needle working holes with a pore diameter of 0.05-0.70 mm preferably account for 80-100% of all needle working holes.
