Description:
Installation device for protective spiral

This invention covers an installation device for protective spiral, with the purpose of facilitating the installation of a protective spiral around elongated objects, such as hose bundles, cables and similar objects. Currently, the majority of spiral installations are performed by spinning the spiral manually around a hose bundle or other elongated object. The disadvantages of manual installations are the physical strain on the arms and the sick leaves and/or cases of disability caused by it as well as the slowness of the manual method and the large amounts of space required by it. The purpose of the invention is to use machine power in the installation of the protective spiral. An installation device in accordance with the invention is characterized in that the installation device consists of the feeding rolls of a spiral-shaped protective spiral, which operate using machine power to push the elongated cord of the protective spiral in a spiral, screw-shaped manner around the objects during the feeding process.

The different applications of the invention are presented in the dependent patent claims of the patent claim presentation.

The advantages of the invention are the minimal physical strain required during installation, the speed of the installation and the fact that it does not require a large space.

In what follows, the invention is presented with the help of an example by referring to the attached drawings, where:

Figures 1 and 2 depict the installation device for protective spiral in an axonometric view from two different directions, Figure 3 depicts the installation device as split and viewed on its side and

Figure 4 depicts the installation of the protective spiral around a hose bundle.

The installation device is formed by feeding rolls 2, 3 of protective spiral 1, which which operate using machine power to push the elongated cord of the protective spiral in a spiral, screw-shaped manner around hose bundle 10 during the feeding process. Feeding gap 5 between feeding rolls 2, 3 is adjustable with adjustment screw 6. The powering engine is hand drill 4, which can be connected to shaft 7 of feeding roll 3. When the surface of feeding roll 3 is made coarse, the feeding of protective spiral 1 is secured further. On one side of the installation there is handle 8 with which the device can be held in the right spot and securely in place during the feeding of protective spiral 1. Curved supporting part 9 is fixed onto the underside of the installation device which rests on top of hose bundle 10 during the feeding of protective spiral 1.
