Abstract:
Provided are: a block copolymer which can be used in DSA technologies and has a narrow molecular weight distribution; an intermediate for said block copolymer; and methods for producing same. Specifically, a block copolymer intermediate indicated by general formulas (1) or (2) is used. (In the formulas, R1 and R7 each independently represent a polymerization initiator residue, R2 and R8 each independently represent an aromatic group or an alkyl group, Y1 represents a polymer block of (meth)acrylic ester, Y2 represents a polymer block of styrene or a derivative thereof, and m and n each independently represent an integer of 1–5. R3 represents a C1–6 alkylene group, L indicates a connecting group, R4 indicates a hydrogen atom, a C1–6 alkyl group, or an aromatic group, and R5 and R6 each independently indicate a hydrogen atom or a C1–6 alkyl group.)
