Abstract:
Provided are an intermediate transfer medium allowing formation of a high-density heat transfer image on a transfer layer while suppressing occurrence of printing unevenness and having good foil cutting properties of the transfer layer, a combination of the intermediate transfer medium and a heat transfer sheet, and a method for forming printed matter using the intermediate transfer medium. In order to address the above problem, the present invention provides an intermediate transfer medium 10 having a transfer layer 5 on a base material 1 thereof, wherein the transfer layer 5 has a single-layer configuration in which the transfer layer 5 is made of only a reception layer 4 or a laminated-layer configuration in which the transfer layer 5 includes the reception layer 4, the reception layer 4 is located farthest from the base material 1 among layers configuring the transfer layer 5 when the transfer layer 5 shows the laminated-layer configuration, the reception layer 4 contains binder resin having a number-average molecular amount (Mn) of 8000 or more and 32000 or less and a mold releasing agent, and a content of the mold releasing agent relative to a total mass of the reception layer 4 is set at 6 mass% or more.
