Abstract:
Provided is an ion-exchange membrane that, when being used in a redox flow cell, provides excellent current efficiency and that can suppress reduction in electric potential efficiency. The ion-exchange membrane contains a fluorine-containing polymer having a sulfonate-type functional group, and is characterized in that the difference (D-Dc) between, as measured by small angle X-ray scattering technique, a distance D between ion clusters and a diameter Dc of an ion cluster is more than 0 but not more than 0.50 nm.
