Abstract:

An iridium complex represented by the general formula (1): [Chemical formula 1] [(IrHL¹L²)₂(μ-X¹)(μ-X²)(μ-X³)]X⁴ (1) (wherein L¹ and L² may be the same or different, and each represents a unidentate neutral ligand or L¹ and L² in combination form a bidentate ligand; X¹, X², and X³ may be the same or different and each represents halogeno; and X⁴ represents a counter anion). Also provided is a novel catalyst which has excellent performances with respect to chemical selectivity, enantioselectivity, catalytic activity, etc. when used as a catalyst for asymmetric synthesis reactions, especially asymmetric hydrogenation.
