Provided are a Fe3C/C iron-based catalyst prepared from a waste biomass, a preparation method therefor, and an application thereof. In the preparation method, a fruit peel-type biomass carbon material is used as a carbon source, and does not need to be subjected to chemical treatment (acid treatment or alkali treatment), instead of being mixed with an iron source to prepare a catalyst precursor, and then the precursor is directly calcined in an inert atmosphere, such that a catalyst having a core-shell structure, which takes an iron-based active phase as a core and takes graphitized carbon obtained by carbonizing the biomass carbon source as a shell, can be successfully prepared under the condition of not using a carburizing gas (a carbon-containing compound gas such as carbon monoxide or methane). The preparation method not only simplifies the preparation process, but also can use in-situ reduction of a native biomass material in a pyrolysis process, thereby avoiding the use of the carburizing gas, and reducing the environmental pollution and the reduction of energy consumption.
