Description:

Description IRON BOARD ESTABLISHED PRESS-IRON

Technical Field

[1] The present invention relates to an ironing board having a press iron installed, and more particularly, to an ironing board configured to allow general ironing to be performed, with a sliding unit enabling a press iron that performs ironing while moving vertically up and down to be moved forward and rearward.

Background Art [2] As a required item for daily life that is used to straighten wrinkles in clothes, irons are employed in virtually every household. [3] In general, irons can be categorized into corded irons and cordless irons, where corded irons have a power cord directly connected to the rear of the iron to supply power, and cordless irons have a power connector formed at the rear of the iron that connects to a power supply connected to a power cord in order to charge a rechargable battery formed within the iron for use, and are configured to heat the iron heat plate for use only when connected. [4] An ironing board is provided to be used with the above types of irons, and an ironing board is formed with a fiber such as cloth flattened over the top of its plate, over which clothes can be spread. [5] However, because ironing requires high temperature and high pressure and arm strength exerts insufficient pressure, ironing cannot be properly performed due to the large amount of force required. [6] To overcome the above problems, press irons have recently been introduced that are formed with a flat board at the bottom and a spring-operated heat plate coupled through a hinge to the rear of the flat board. [7] However, in a press iron, because the heat plate is raised through the hinge when preparing clothes for ironing, there is the danger of sustaining burns to the hands, and there is the problem of being unable to iron intricate portions of clothes.

Disclosure of Invention

Technical Problem

[8] To solve the above problems, the present invention has been developed for the following objectives. [9] (1) Provide an ironing board that is configured with a press iron formed above the ironing board to be movable through sliding, so that it can be safely used. [10] (2) Provide an ironing board with which both press irons and general irons can be used.

[11] (3) Provide an ironing board that can provide long-lasting effects of ironing.

[12] (4) Provide an ironing board that can raise purchasing desire with a tastefully executed exterior appearance. Technical Solution

[13] To achieve the above objects, the present invention provides an iron board with a press iron installed, the iron board including a rectangular ironing board with a leg unit formed at a bottom thereof; and a press iron formed to be capable of moving forward and rearward through a sliding unit (270) formed at the bottom of the ironing board.

Advantageous Effects

[14] The ironing board according to the present invention as described above has the following effects. [15] (1) An ironing board is configured with a press iron formed above the ironing board to be movable through sliding, so that it can be safely used.

[16] (2) An ironing board can be used with both press irons and general irons.

[17] (3) An ironing board can provide long-lasting effects of ironing.

[18] (4) An ironing board can raise purchasing desire with a tastefully executed exterior appearance.

Brief Description of the Drawings [19] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of an ironing board with a press iron installed thereon, configured according to preferred embodiments. [20] FIG. 2 is a conceptual diagram of a pressing unit of an ironing board with a press iron installed thereon, configured according to preferred embodiments. [21] FIG. 3 is a conceptual diagram of a sliding unit of an ironing board with a press iron installed thereon, configured according to preferred embodiments.

Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention [22] Below, a detailed description of preferred embodiments of the present invention will be provided, with reference to the enclosed drawings. [23] Referring to FIGS. 1 through 5, the present invention includes a rectangular ironing board 100 with a leg unit 150 formed at the bottom thereof; and a press iron 200 formed to be capable of moving forward and rearward through a sliding unit 270 formed at the bottom of the ironing board 100. [24] The ironing board 100 includes an ironing surface 110 of a rectangular plate covered with cloth, and a frame 115 at a perimeter thereof. [25] The leg unit 150 includes two supporting legs 153 forming an 'X' shape at a front and a rear, respectively; two lower legs 155 connecting ends of the respective supporting legs 153, respectively; and a reinforcing leg 160 insertable in and separable from the lower legs 155, respectively.

[26] A sliding unit 270 is formed at the bottom of the ironing board 100, and includes a rail 271 attached to the bottom of the ironing board 100; and a sliding panel 273 capable of moving along the rail 271 and including at least two rollers 272 formed at either side surface thereof. [27] A reinforcing leg 160 of the leg unit 150 is configured to not disengage out from an end of the lower leg 155, and includes a roller 272 formed at an end thereof and perpendicular to a bottom of a sliding panel 273, to enable telescoping thereof. [28] The press iron 200 includes a pressing unit 250 formed at a top of a sliding panel 273 projecting from a rear of the ironing board 100; an operating shaft 240 connected to the pressing unit 250; and a pressing portion 260 formed at an end of the operating shaft

240. [29] The pressing unit 250 is capable of being coupled through a guide to move laterally on the sliding panel 273. [30] To move the operating shaft 240, the pressing unit 250 includes a cam 252 connected to a motor 251, and the operating shaft 240 is moved upward and downward by the cam 252. [31] The operating shaft 240 is connected through a spring inside the pressing unit 250, so that when the operating shaft 240 moves upward and downward, its supporting can be reinforced by elastic force. [32] The pressing unit 250 includes a hydraulic pump formed therein for moving oil, and a cylinder formed therein and moved upward and downward by the hydraulic pump, so that the operating shaft 240 is moved upward and downward at an end of a cylinder arm of the cylinder. [33] The final pressure imparted by the motor 251 or hydraulic pump on the pressing portion 260 is adequate at 30 Kgf or more. [34] A power supply for transferring electrical power to the pressing portion 260 is disposed inside the pressing unit 250. [35] The pressing portion 260 is configured to be moved upward and downward by the operating shaft 240 and perform ironing, with a heat plate 261 formed at the bottom thereof and a control panel 262 and a handle 265 formed on top of the heat plate 261. [36] Below, a description will be provided of a method for using the iron board configured according to preferred embodiments of the present invention, and the operation thereof. [37] The iron board is prepared by positioning it on a flat surface, and using the supporting legs 153 of the leg unit 150 to adjust the height, after which the reinforcing legs 160 are withdrawn. [38] Power to the press iron 200 is turned on, and the handle 265 is used to push the sliding panel 273 rearward, so that the press iron 200 is disengaged from the top of the

ironing board 100.

[39] Then, clothes are positioned on top of the ironing board 100, and the handle 265 is grasped to pull the heat plate 261 of the press iron 200 forward on top of the clothes, after which an operation switch is pressed on the control panel 262. Then, the motor 251 of the pressing unit 250 rotates to press the operating shaft 240, and here, the clothes are ironed through the heat and pressure from the heat plate 261.

[40] If intricate portions of clothes need to be ironed, the handle 265 is grasped to push the press iron 200 rearward from atop the ironing board 100, and a general iron can be used to perform ironing.

[41] Because the above press iron 200 performs ironing with high pressure and heat, lines and surfaces of clothes can be well ironed.

[42] Specifically, when the press iron 200 is used, one hand is used to grasp the handle

265, while the other hand is used to operate the operation button, thus providing safety, and because the heat plate 261 of the press iron 200 is pushed to the rear of the ironing board 100 when clothes are pressed atop the ironing board 100, there is no possibility of sustaining burns to the hands.

[43] While the present invention has been described above centered around preferred embodiments with reference to the drawings, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art from the claims set forth below that various other embodiments will fall within the spirit and scope of the present invention.
