JUMPER COMPRISING A HEAD AND NECK PORTION

The present invention relates to a jumper comprising a head and neck portion of the type described in the preamble of the first claim.

Jumpers for covering the torso and possibly also the arms or shoulders of a user are currently known.

These are in particular sweaters, jumpers, fleeces, jackets, coats and the like. They can be equipped with sleeves up to the wrist, half sleeves up to the forearm, short sleeves that protect only part of the forearm, or can be sleeveless. The structure of the torso can also be provided or not with pockets and openings, for example sagittal ones, closable with zips, buttons and the like.

Said jumpers may further comprise a hood intended to cover the head and the neck of the user.

Said hood can also be detachable, for example by means of press studs, zips or the like. Said jumpers may also comprise high necks and the like.

The described prior art has a few major drawbacks.

In particular, the jumpers are not versatile and can only be used in a predetermined manner.

For example, hooded jumpers cannot protect the neck if they do not also protect the head. On the contrary, high-neck jumpers cannot protect the head.

Patent US-B-1993149 describes a jumper with a very expandable opening and such that it can act as both a hood and a high neck. However, given the need to use a plurality of zips to allow the expansion of the opening in the forward or rearward direction, the transition from one configuration to the other is very complex and time- consuming. Similarly, patent application US2013/0139291 also describes a jumper with a very wide opening and a central cord that can allow the partitioning or positioning of said opening in different ways. However, said jumper is very laborious and difficult to arrange.

In this context, the technical task underlying the present invention is to devise a jumper comprising a head and neck portion, which is capable of substantially obviating the above-mentioned drawbacks.

Within the scope of said technical task an important objective of the invention is to achieve a jumper comprising a head and neck portion, which is versatile.

The technical task and the specified objects are achieved as claimed in the appended claim 1 .

In the present document, the measures, values, shapes and geometric references (such as perpendicularity and parallelism), when associated with terms like "about" or other similar terms such as "almost" or "substantially", are to be understood as unless measurement errors or inaccuracies due to production and/or manufacturing defects.

With reference to the Figures, the jumper according to the invention is indicated as a whole by the numeral 1.

It is made of brushed fabric, knitted fabric, cotton, synthetic fabric, non-woven fabric or the like.

It comprises a main portion 2 suitable to cover, at least partially, the torso of a user, and a head and neck portion 3 suitable to cover, at least partially, the head and/or neck of the user.

The main portion 2 is known per se and comprises a torso portion, which can be opened or not, with a zip and/or buttons. Said portion 2 can also comprise sleeves, which can be whole or partial, for example half or three-quarter-length sleeves. The head and neck portion 3 comprises a lower opening 4 defined by a lower edge 4a permanently connected to the main portion 2, and similar to the connection usually occurring between the hood or high neck and the torso in jumpers of the known type.

The head and neck portion 3 also comprises an intermediate opening 5, suitable to allow the exposure of the user's face. Said intermediate opening is similar to the usually occurring opening for the face in hoods. The intermediate opening 5 is defined by an intermediate edge 5a. The head and neck portion 3 preferably also comprises second closing means 7b, described hereinafter, for the intermediate opening 5, designed for its opening and closing.

The head and neck portion 3 also comprises an upper opening 6, suitable to allow the passage of the head through said upper opening 6. Substantially, the upper opening 6 allows the head to be inserted through it and the use of the head and neck portion 3 as a scarf, high neck or the like, precisely to protect the neck and throat. The head and neck portion 3 also comprises first closing means 7a for the upper opening 6, suitable to allow the opening and closing of the upper opening 6. The upper opening 6 is defined by an upper edge 6a.

A non-openable portion 8 is arranged between the upper opening 6 and the intermediate opening 5. The presence of this portion is actually implicit in the existence of two distinct holes and illustrated in the attached Figures. The closing means 7, consisting of one or more of said first and second closing means 7a, and 7b, preferably comprise a cord 70, arranged along the intermediate 5a and/or upper 6a edges and preferably substantially inside the outer surface of the edges, so as to allow the closing or narrowing of the related openings when pulled, as is known per se.

The cord 70 comprises outer portions 71 protruding from the edge 5a or 6a, through outlets 73, suitable to allow the closing of the related opening. The closing means 7 preferably further comprise a movable block 72 suitable to be moved and blocked on command along the cord 70. This movable block 72 preferably consists of an element defining a cavity, interrupted by a second portion also defining a cavity which can be aligned to the first, in opposition to an elastic element and so as to allow the sliding of the cord, or non-aligned, so as to block the sliding on the cord due to the elastic element itself. This movable block, known per se, is called "Cord Lock".

The closing means 7 preferably also comprise an eyelet 74 arranged along the edge 5a or 6a and preferably opposite to the outlets 73. The eyelet 74 is suitable to allow the passage of the outer portions 71 of the cord 70, as shown in Figs. 22 and 23, and optionally also of the movable block 72, through the same in order to achieve a better closing of the opening 4 or 5.

The eyelet 74 preferably also consists of said cord 70 that protrudes from the edges 5a and 6a into a second portion 75, preferably opposite to the outlets 73. In order to improve the closing, the outlets 73 may be facing the inside of the head and neck portion.

The use of the jumper 1 , previously described in structural terms, is as follows. The jumper 1 is wearable like the jumpers of the traditional type. Moreover, the head and neck portion 3 is available, in particular, in a first configuration (Figs. 8, 10), in which the upper opening 6 is closed and the intermediate opening 5 is open, and in a second configuration (Figs. 9, 12), in which said upper opening 6 is open and the intermediate opening 5 is closed.

In the first configuration, the head and neck portion 3 substantially forms a hood. In the second configuration, the head and neck portion 3 substantially covers only the neck of said user, like a high neck or a scarf.

To open and close the openings 5 and 6 it is sufficient to pull the outer portions 71 of the cord 70, releasing and blocking the movable block 72 again. Furthermore, it is possible to pass the cord 70 through the eyelet 74 and close the openings 5 or 6 better.

The jumper 1 according to the invention achieves important advantages.

In fact, said jumper 1 is versatile and can be used either with the hood or with the high neck or scarf.

Furthermore, the transition from a hooded jumper to a jumper with a high neck or scarf occurs immediately, thanks to a simple lifting or lowering of the head and neck portion 3 and without necessarily having to close one of the two openings.

The jumper 1 is also simple and inexpensive and requires reduced added costs compared to traditional jumpers.

The invention is susceptible of variations falling within the scope of the inventive concept as defined by the claims.

For example, an intermediate structure consisting of two or more intermediate plates 40, mutually connected by cushioning elements 5 or the like, may be provided. In this context, all details are replaceable by equivalent elements and the materials, shapes and dimensions may be any materials, shapes and dimensions.
