Abstract:
A label affixing device is provided with: a feeding mechanism that feeds a sheet having a base material and a label provided on the base material via an adhesive material; a printing unit that performs printing on the label; a separating member that separates the label from the base material of the sheet fed by the feeding mechanism; an affixing mechanism that affixes the label with a forward end thereof in a sheet feeding direction separated from the base material by a prescribed reference separation amount along an outer peripheral surface of a cylindrical body; and a control unit that controls the feeding unit. The control unit performs preliminary separating operation in which the forward end of the label is separated by a prescribed first preliminary separation amount greater than the reference separation amount and the sheet is reversely fed by the feeding mechanism to return the whole label onto the base material, and performs control to separate the forward end of the label by the reference separation amount after the preliminary separating operation.
