Abstract:
A laser drive device (41) that comprises a drive circuit (43) that, on the basis of a drive control signal, drives the light emission of a light-emitting element (40) that is a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser, an assist circuit (42) that, on the basis of an assist control signal, short circuits both ends of the light-emitting element and thereby accelerates the fall time of the light-emitting element, a timing adjustment unit (20) that, on the basis of a timing adjustment signal, performs mutual timing adjustment of the drive control signal and the assist control signal, a phase detection unit (33) that detects the phase difference between the drive control signal and the assist control signal, and a timing control unit (34) that generates the timing adjustment signal on the basis of the phase difference detection results from the phase difference detection unit.
