Abstract:
Provided are a laser welding method and a laser welding apparatus using said method. The laser welding method can reduce the hardness HV0.2 of welded metal to no more than 350, which is lower than conventional technology, by using He gas or Ar gas that contains a total of 10–30 vol% of at least either CO2 gas or N2 gas, as a shield gas that is sprayed on the front and rear surfaces of a welded section, in a laser welding method wherein: the rear end of a leading steel sheet and the front end of a trailing steel sheet on the line input side are abutted, when feeding Si-containing steel sheets to a continuous processing line; laser is irradiated on to the abutted section while supplying filler wire; and the filler is welded by melting and solidifying same.
