Abstract:
The present invention provides a latent heat storage material which is capable of keeping an article to be held cold such as frozen food and ice cream cold at a temperature of -20°C or less for a long period of time, while being capable of reducing the electric power consumption necessary for solidification. This latent heat storage material contains from 5 parts by weight to 21 parts by weight of ammonium chloride, from 2 parts by weight to 13 parts by weight of potassium chloride, from 5 parts by weight to 23 parts by weight of urea, and from 43 parts by weight to 88 parts by weight of water, with the total of ammonium chloride, potassium chloride, urea and water being 100 parts by weight; and this latent heat storage material has a main melting point within the range of from -20°C to -23°C.
