With a view to achieving a lid that can easily be fitted to a container, easily be disposed of or recycled, and easily be produced, a lid 1 for covering and sealing a container 5, which has an outwardly protruding ring-shaped reinforcement rim 4 provided to an upper end of an upward-opened opening 3, comprises: a lid top part 6 which covers the opening 3 of the container 5; and a lid wall part 7 which is externally fitted to a barrel wall part 2 of the container 5. The lid top part 6 has provided to the outer circumference thereof an upward close-attaching wall portion 8 that is to fit inside the barrel wall part 2 of the container 5 and that is closely attachable to the interior surface of the barrel wall part 2. The lid wall part 7 is formed in such a manner as to be bent in an inverted U-shape outwardly from the upper end of the upward close-attaching wall portion 8, and the lid wall part 7 has formed therein a ring-shaped recess 9 that is to be fitted onto the reinforcement rim 4. The lid top part 6 and the lid wall part 7 are formed from a single piece of paper material by draw molding.
